This week's prompt for One Single Impression was "autumn." I would have thought this would be an easy one but my muse seems to be in early hibernation. This is all I could come up with.
Sounds to me like your muse was working overtime, Katherine! The last is quite sad, perhaps because it reminds me of me and my first love. I, too, am more observant in the autumn of my life, and more discerning. At least, I hope I am.
All I can say is wow! What lovely Haiku's. Each is so delicate and carries such feelings of Love,Loss and longing. These are wonderful and the photos outstanding. Well done.! A pleasure to read on many levels.
..the whiff of a lament tinged with_ "feelings of Love,Loss and longing"- [thanks for the cmnt at my blog but-the said poem ('your first poem.. at..17') is not the one u read but the one posted at: http://peerpressurized.blogspot.com/2008/02/ autumn-memories.html]for this paint brush treatment of autumn..many thanks..
Hi Katherine, these are all wonderful. My favorites are the last (reminds me of ...) and the 'autumn of my live (where have I heard that line?). But the autumn leaves are traditionally romantic, we must remember and honor those. .. Thank you for being nice to me. I appreciate it, everyone is soooo encouraging. I need all I can get. :-) ..
I had a heck of a time with this week's haiku as well. I'm still in denial, I think. I appreciated all of these very much. No matter what others say is great. The last pulls on my heart.
I'm 70 years old going on twelve or sometimes 6, it depends on the day. Then again, sometimes I feel like I'm 110. I'm agoraphobic, permanently disabled. I live an odd life, but a relatively happy one. I have two cats, Merlin and Melissa. They are brother and sister and therefore known (it's a joke) as The Twins. They were 3 years old on May 7th.

For some one who felt uninspired you have a nice range of thoughts! Most seem sad, with a sense of loss.

Some very different but excellent Haiku's there.
I agree with Barb. You certainly seem inspired to me Raven. Beautifully done!

Wonderfully done Raven!
I love the one with the birds and my favorite is the last one - picture and verse!
these are all lovely reflections of the season, and the heart!
These are strong and impressive reflections on the season. Take heart; the leaves aren't gone yet! God bless. Thanks, Raven.

A range of responses that all present something for me to ponder on. I particularly like the final one about "winter in the heart". Good image ...

I like the last one, kind of a sad reminder that love can be fleeting
I agree that once the leaves are gone it must be winter. I do love autumn. Thank you for all the images and poems.
All, so very descriptively describe the ushering in of my favourite seasons so well!! They were all such enjoyable views and reads.
But I do love the romantic play on ,'eyes of summer blue, hair of autumn brown and a winter heart"; how lovely!

Lovely photos and collection of words.

On number 4- I am too!
I love number 6, and
am impressed with all of them.
Beautiful images and wise words.
I love them all and your pictures add so much to your words. Autumn of my life says and means so much, beautiful work!
i don't believe your muse is in hibernation! such a range of wisdom & insight here...
Raven,
I love all! The last leaves me remembering that time in my own life. If you are in hibernation, your dreams are ever so awakening!
Thank you!
My goodness, I think your muse was working overtime! Each one is beautiful and the photos are outstanding.
Hi Raven--
Your poems are slightly melancholy here--like fall is for some--
Beautiful, though, and brilliant photography.
Thanks--and thanks for stopping by my post for this prompt!
