Show Me: Mailbox

(Please scroll down for One Single Impression.)

Robert at Thoughts of a Father - who makes me cranky on the political front.... actually, to be fair, it is probably me who makes him cranky - is trying his hand at a photo meme. It will last for 7 days starting today and each day he will ask us to "show him" a specific place or thing. Today's theme is "your mailbox".

Since my mailbox is outside the house and I'm not - and because I can't stand up for long and I have to make sure that Angel doesn't run out the door - photos of my poor rusty old mailbox were something of a challenge. Also, it's old and rusty and not terribly photogenic. Anyway, I stuck the camera and my arm out the door a few times and then made a collage of the terrible pictures I got in that process. I'm not liking today. I posted rotten poems and now I'm posting a collage of rotten pictures. Since the theme of One Single Impression (below) was "defenses down," I figure I'm living that a bit by even posting these. Oh, the joy of living a shame-filled life. So I guess I can't stall any more... here's the collage...

I like the second shot... the one on the top right... Nice angle. :) I love that type of mailbox quite a lot.

Well, I actually like the collage. And I can be quite cranky myself so I'm liking you, too. Thanks for reading and commenting at BES, too.

I like that top right shot too, and I think you deserve extra credit for just making the attempt and putting your arm out there.

((hug))

Well now Ms. Raven...your angles are right on - believe it!

I saw Shelly's comment about dirty dishes - I can hardly wait for tomorrow to see what you two do!

Have a good day my friend.

I used to have a mailbox like yours...way, way back when the postman would get out of his vehicle and come to the door. That stopped happening...just like the garbage men. Thanks for stopping by...

You're a talented one-armed photographer Raven!

I like the collage ;) Hey man, my mailbox is more beat-up than yours...it's had some pretty hard knocks, looks a little worse for the wear but I kinda like it that way.

I think your collage turned out pretty cool. All different angles, and who cares if it's old and rusty? It does the job, right? I'm so enjoying the uniqueness of the variety of mailboxes. Can't wait for the remainder of the week. :D

Nostalgia! I had a mailbox just like that in my college days. It was rusted and cranky. Whenever the mail carrier opened it, it made a horrendous sound as though it were being ripped off the house, siding and all. Then, when the mail carrier released it, it would slam closed with a screech that would make the whole wall shudder -- and probably the mail-carrier, too!.

Photography is our neutral ground it seems. Sure we get cranky with our discussions/arguments but it's great we can still keep talking. Thanks for participating when doing so was a challenge for you. :)

Your mailbox is more photogenic than my mailbox. Mine's just a plain old rural delivery box. Yours has some graceful lines. If our mailboxes entered a beauty contest (God forbid), yours would be in the running. Mine would have to hope for getting Mr. Congeniality (at best).
