They've done much more since I took these, but they give an idea of how it will look... More pictures to come later or tomorrow. They've started (or done) the back steps but I haven't gone back there and they're doing the gate thingy on the front now.
Got the linoleum sample today. Looks much different than the photo, but I actually think it's even better... not as dark and not as gold looking as the on-site photos. I was a bit worried about the gold look since nothing else is like that, so this is good news. None of these photos are very good, but they are more true to what it will look like. Also worked out a way that once the cabinets are in the house, we can block the kitchen off and the girls won't have to be locked in the bedroom for a week. This makes me very happy. Of course the down side is that I may not be able to take day by day photos... Hmmm... maybe I can work out a way to have the best of both worlds. We'll see.
Just made this of the three together... I'm pleased, I think.

Oh I DO like that linoleum! It looks like stone! And I think it will match the counter tops WAY better than the other picture! (providing the counter tops come looking like what we think!) It's going to be BEAUTIFUL! And the ramp is looking good too! Aren't you even going to give it a WHIRL when it's done? Go out and take some pictures??? How can you resist?
Hi Melli - I think you're having as much fun with all this as I am.
I'm going to try to step outside. May have to wait until tomorrow or when someone is here. I don't think they've put the bench in (it's supposed to have a little bench so I can sit). Poor guys are working hard. May be that they will finish with painting and the back steps on Tuesday when the start bathroom too.
Wouldn't you think they could post photos on these sites (they must pay photographers a fortune to take them) that are actually true to the colors?
This is just too cool. It makes me happy to think that you are going to have a much more comfortable and accommodating place to live. I hope you feel secure enough on your new porch to venture out and sit on your bench from time-to-time.
Hi Quilly - I hope so too. They didn't get to the bench yet. One of the guys who has been doing this will be here next week to work with the plumber and he'll finish the front and the steps in the back then. So no bench yet. Even so, if I can work up my courage, and make sure Angel is busy and can't join me, I may just try stepping in and out. We'll see. Tomorrow is another day. Too late to try it today.
Oh my!
I hope you step out too. I'm thinking the little walkway is enclosed and not wide open. Maybe that would help you feel more secure to step out.
Love the matchups! It's going to be beautiful!
And so glad the girls will get to keep a more natural atmosphere while the work is being done.
How exciting, Raven! Just think if you could sit out there on your porch and be closer to your wonderful, critter-full yard. You could zoom even closer with your camera! I wish you the best!
That ramp looks positively inviting! What a nice job they're doing. Your oasis of a yard will settle down after all the noise and bother stops and then just imagine what creature will reveal themselves to your lens. I've always marveled at how good your photos are from inside windows! What kind of camera do you use?
Looks like they're doing a great job and I love the three samples! :)
Things are perking along, aren't they?! That's just wonderful! Good for you! You most certainly deserve it!!!
I love the linoleum
and I love the back of the house
this is all so cool :)
Hi everyone...
Thanks for your enthusiasm. They didn't get to the bench yesterday. That will happen Tuesday when they come back and start work on the bathroom. Just for clarity, this is all in FRONT of the house, not where most of my pictures are taken.
