Ruby Tuesday

Maryt/The Teach over at Work of the Poet has something called Ruby Tuesday which featuring all things red.

I should probably have skipped today. Not very happy about any of these photos. I'm in blog fatigue - and mortal fatigue too, I guess - at the moment. Anyway, today I have a three wick candle that I didn't think to light when I photographed it, a bunch of odd red weedy leaves in the uncut grass of my yard and my woo woo basket with my tarot cards and my tingshas (the little gong-like things). That's it from me. Happy Tuesday.

Late morning addition: A bunch of people asked about the tingshas and I wish I had thought of this earlier. Just went and googled and found this. It's only 36 seconds long but it answers the question.

HAPPY TUESDAY IN EVERY COLOR!

Is that candle cherry scented? :)
I love the weeds. I've been noticing the subtle changes lately and it means fall isn't far behind and I can hardly wait.
That is one bright red basket. I need to google those little gong like things - I have no idea what they are for.

I'm so wicked and lazy that I seldom respond to comments on the theory that people won't come back and read my responses anyway...that said, since you asked specific questions, carletta... the candle is cinnamon. I love cinnamon.

One thing about taking so many pictures - I'm much more aware of the phases of change even within the season..

Tinshas are little sort of like cymbols. In the old days when I gave reiki classes and had more gatherings in my apartment (in NYC), I'd use them to mark the beginning and ending of rituals. They have a wonderful resonant sound.

I'd like a candle like that, especially if it's cinnamon scented. That's one of my two favorite scents for candles -- the other is vanilla. Happy Ruby Tuesday, Raven.

Glad I read the comments about the candle! I was going to ask what it was! A scented candle is always a delight!

Love the variety of ruby pics!

I am glad you posted even if you are feeling blog-fatigue. Because you always find such interesting variety. Great weeds, they really caught my eye.

About responding to comments, sometimes I read the response to my comment the next time I visit a blog. Especially if I know it's a blogger who answers the comments.

But you get so many comments, it might be hard to keep up with them all! So responding to specific questions sounds like a good strategy.

I have been noticing a lot of red/orange poking up around and leaves changing especially on my blueberry bush. You found some fun red around Raven...

The photos are great, and after all, red is red. The red growth in the grass is my favorite here.

Good pictures, Raven!

mmmm, a cinnamon candle!!
There's only one scent I love even better, and that's orange-cinnamon! I love it during the winter!
I love that red basket Raven, it looks very cosy and homely to me!

A very nice series of "rubies." And I'm surprised that there's tingshas on YouTube; guess everything must be there! Anyway, adds a special touch to hear them here.

Hi Raven. I found your post far more interesting than you seem to have, lol. I enjoyed it. I have the same medicine cards and book, though haven't used them for ages and beyond. I like the sound of the tingshas.

See my post here, and/or my whole blog I Was Born2Cree8.

I love the weeds!!

and I have the exact same basket - my DIL took it and has tons of little tiny white hand towels in it.

You've been posting every day for quite a while now - which is great if you want to. I can rarely do that and I don't want to. Except for 3 regular things - I post what and when I want, feels better that way.

And I do the same thing Leora does re. comment responses, I check back the next time I visit.

Rest :)

Raven -- I don't know what has you feeling down, especially with all this cheery red around. What ever it is, I hope it goes away and leaves you be.

Light your wonderful red candle, chime the tingas, and heal.

Sorry that I'm getting to you so late in the day.

I like your photos. You always come up with something original for Ruby Tuesday. :D

I'm sorry that you are fatigued. I get that way sometimes, too. Then, I take a couple days break, do more reading than writing.

I love the photo of those pretty red weeds, signaling August and the approaching change of seasons. Very nice.

I like scented candles too. You can always light this one and use that photo for another Ruby Tuesday entry. ;-)

Interesting video, I also didn't know what tingshas were.

Happy Belated Ruby Tuesday to you.
