I Love Barack Obama

Anyone who didn't listen to Barack Obama's speech tonight, should make it a point to find it and either watch or read it. This is a great man. He offers hope - but it isn't empty hope. It is promise, new ideas to revitalize and restore this nation's dignity and decency as well as our economy and our place in the world. Awesome.

I hate pundits. I think they are morons who love the sound of their own voices. I think I will turn the sound down and do something else instead of let them rain on the substance and genius of Mr. Obama's speech.

I think the consensus was, at least on CNN where I was watching, that he knocked it out of the park. I was surprised t the enthusiasm they showed.

This has been an exciting race to watch from Canada. ;-)

It's funny Katherine, how many people spent their childhood on Long Island or in NYC. Well, I'm glad to take you back...

Listened to Barack the next President of the USA. Turned off the TV when the pundits started... Have a Happy Labor Day!

I watched this convention and will watch the next.
I so wish Hillary were part of the deal!

So, are you blogging again? ;)

robert - alas, you are beyond help.

deborah godin - I thought he knocked it out of the park. McCain was trying to steal some thunder this morning with his bizarre VP choice. He gets creepier by the day in my book.

your eg tour guide - probably much more fun to be a spectator than to have to worry that another psycho will take over your country. Though what happens here does mess with the rest of the world too.

the teach - Happy Labor Day to you too.

carletta - I'm sort of half back. Feeling what seems like consistently better today. Trying to get my Wordzzles finished so I can post that. May still lay low-ish for a bit. Taking it one day at a time.

The Clintons both delivered pretty inspiring speeches, I thought, as well.

Biden's speech would have been awesome if it hadn't been for all the cheesy choreographed crowd chanting along with him. Really killed what had been an otherwise impressive convention.

hi diana - I agree. I thought there were a lot of good speeches - and speeches which felt to me heartfelt rather than political felt.

I think McCain's VP nomination is bizarre. I hope it backfires on him. I hope everything backfires on him. Really scares me that he might get elected. God/the Good Luck Fairy, whatever anyone believes in help us all.

I watched Obama's speech live - Bless C-Span - and then watched it again later

I watched virtually all of the convention - again, bless C-Span since the pundits make my head ooze.

It was one of the best conventions, really great speechs and I loved seeing the crowd.

I'm going to watch the RNC as well - I always watch both sides just so I know what I'm talking about. Plus it will be fascinating to see McCain meet his VP selection for the second time. Wonder is she'll wear her crown and perhaps she'll be carrying her rifle and her indictment papers.

Hell yeah, he knocked it out of the park and he actually had something speicific to say. We haven't heard that for awhile: specifics. I really have hope. The first time in my entire voting life that I have political hope.

Oh PS: C-span is the way to go unless one needs to hear the party's talking points.
