Creative Ruby Tuesday.... Sort Of....

Maryt/The Teach over at Work of the Poet has something called Ruby Tuesday which featuring all things red and this week - I hope it's legal to do this - I thought I'd merge it the Creative Photography thing. Here's what happened (not that it matters, but)... I did have a couple of red things but I didn't really feel very happy with them and so I started fooling around with some pictures. I didn't want to just dye something red by colorizing it because that just seemed - I don't know - I just didn't want to do it. And then I remembered that somebody sometime posted something and explained how she did it and I thought, "hmmm... maybe I could try that. As a result. The crow on the wire in the first photo got a dye job and the purple flower in the second got very red in the blooms. Silly, but I kind I learned a new trick with Paintshop Pro and that always delights me. So these are weird and questionably creative, but, heck, I had fun and the are red. In fact I had so much fun that I added a third one... and then I thought maybe I should add the originals too...

Well this has been posted for about an hour or so and two people have said kind funny things but I have to say that I'm kind of freaked out about this. I'm crazy liberal politically, but sort of reserved and conservative in other ways. Messing with birds and flowers and turning them bright red sort of scares me. I just had to say that. And then I have to apologize for saying it because I'm supposed to be breaking the habit of apolgizing, so I'm doing it in very small type.

Wow Raven!
Creative for sure.
I absolutely love the red crow - wouldn't that be awesome to see flying around. Think of the biggest crow you've ever seen and imagine it red - COOL!
The flowers turned out well too - I'm just loving the crow at the moment.

Gotta love technology. Nothing red that you like? Find something you do like and make it red. Marvelous. (In fact, I'd love to see a real red crow!) Well done, Raven. ;-}

The red crow is quite a shock! For some reason, I immediately thought of blood red muscles.

Boy that red crow was a real gotcha until I scrolled down and read your explanation. Great creative "mutation"!

I love that you took it and turned it into something even more creative. The red crow looks very dramatic next to that blue background. Cool. I think it would make an interesting print.

Good luck in Roger's contest.

P.S. I must admit when I got to the small type I immediately "biggified" it.
My eyes aren't getting any younger.

What you did, Katherine, is fantastic! The crow is a little scary in his so red feathers but the flowers are awesome! They are gorgeous! Good luck in the CP contest and thanks very much for adding to the fun of Ruby Tuesday!

Much like the ugly duckling, the corw hopes to turn into a red tailed hawk. In the crow's dreams, of course!

What a fun post! I’ve not tried Ruby Tuesday yet, but I’ve been thinking about it. Seeing what you did with Paint makes me want to experiment with that program too … but when I’ll find the time is anyone’s guess.
Hugs and blessings,

Dear Raven,
I liked your red pics, but
the crow actually looked spooky.
Then again, the crows can be scary in natural blackish too.
I've tried to communicate with them as they every late afternoon are crossing over our garden on their way to, what do I know,- evening service?
At least 40 are passing in very informal formation. I've frightened our neighbors by trying to kra kra with them.
I caused a collapse in their(the crows') eastbound flying, two turned to see what was wrong....

The flowers were marvelous;the dark red digitalis, could not have been better if gene manipulated.

I've spent quite some time here at your blog-site and had a most entertaining and interesting time.

I'm late getting here from last week's contest (it was a hectic week!) but I did want to pop by to check out everyone's entries.

That red bird is pretty creepy looking; almost like something out of a Hitchcock film or an Edgar Allan Poe poem!
