WW & Project Black Take 7: Lots of Rocks and a Shell

Today is Wordless Wednesday and it's also day seven of Anna Carson's Project Black. I started out photographing the book and my black rocks for Project Black and then realized that it's also WW. I didn't want to do the two separately and it didn't seem right to do just Project Black, so.... as usual, I went kind of bonkers and spent hours taking pictures of all sorts of rocks. I love my rocks and I hope you enjoy them too. Oh... the shell is something I've had since I was a child.

My other Project Black posts include:

Cane Corso Mastiff
Crow on the Wire
My Black Cane
Shop Vac and Angel Parts
Truck Parts
Akua'ba Tours Black
Lots of Rocks and a Shell

Great ideas Raven!
I love that amethyst - my birthstone!
The black rocks are pretty cool.

The shell looks like abalone.

Cool treasures.

You are finding all sorts of black! Nice job!

A lot of Chinese enjoying collecting crystals, they believe that different crystals of different colors and shapes help in luck :)

Great idea to use the large abalone shell to hold the various rocks.

Happy WW, your photos are really pretty. I'm not that adept of a photographer and my still lifes always end up fuzzy!

Lots of great shots! That shell... you've taken wonderful care of it through the years. It looks great for its age!

I like the second shot -- the red sets off the black nicely.

Raven, your crystals and rocks are beautiful. We used to be quite to rockhounds and whenever we went on vacation would always look for rocks in the area. We had quite a collection at one time.

Great images, and arrangements! I lean toward the second shot the most, perhaps because it is the most different! I should try to put my little collection of crystals and stones into some sort of arrangement that looks nice!

Ooooh... love these pics! I also have rocks around the house so... hehehe!

Beautiful stones, Raven. My wife and I love collecting rocks and crystals. When people go on vacation, we ask them to bring a rock back from their travels. In spite of their strange look, they do it. We have rocks from all over the world. :)

BTW, I've posted the process I used for yesterday's photo.
