Project Blue, Take Five: An Odd Assortment

Today is day five of Anna Carson's Project Blue. I'm was dredging around in my imagination for something to do... and came up with the following odd assortment for day five.

I think this little book is kind of pretty and has lots of nice blue to offer.

And then I thought "my eyes are blue. I wonder if I could get a picture of my eyes." Not as easy as you might think - at least not for me - not without looking kind of cranky or cross-eyed or frowny. Not sharing my face, though I did accidentally get one with most of my face in it. My niece Diana likes it, but...

I count the "portrait" below to be one of my "life treasures." It's not really blue, but it has blue in it, and I really like it. It's a picture of me drawn by a little girl I met about four years ago at a vegan Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful evening. I had dinner with her and her family a month or so later and she gave me this picture as a gift. It's very flattering and I'm very fond of it. Delfina is probably 9 or 10 now. She was six when she drew this. Pretty amazing, isn't it?

One more eye. I wish I had decent eyelashes. My sister's children all have magnificent eyelashes. My father had long, pale eyelashes. He was a red head. My mother had very short eyelashes. I got her length and his paleness (in the eyelashes, not the hair). Very irritating. I've got mad scientist eyebrows too. Sigh.

That's it for today. The eyes have it. (Sorry. I tried to resist that... I really did...)

My other Project Blue posts include:

Blue Skies
Seldom Used Objects
A Box and Some Rocks
Peace
A Strange Assortment

I dig the blue eyes, but that blue eyeliner has got to go! Yikes.

Love the blue eyes. I've been considering doing that (just in case you see it show up on my blog too) but I'll try to make mine a bit different. Nice job.

I enjoy the blue green book. It's chock full of interest, lots going on.

And the drawing is great! I've got to post some of my kids' art.

I like them all, but i too like the first one, interesting - the bird, it looks like your computer desktop as well and I like the bookcover. And definately the portrait - love, love, love KID ART! well done :0)

Well... the kid art wins for me! LOL! I LOVE it! They eyes -- you did well! I have done my own eyes and it IS hard! It's hard to get a good angle and perspective, depth - everything! Lighting is everything too - because if you use a flash you're blind! (and the pictures stink!) So, you did do well!

You did well on the eyes. I sat a couple of weeks ago waiting for my husband at the hardware store and sat taking pics of my eyes with my phone camera - ugh. I should try with my digital, but I'll blind myself.
I will tell you what I love best is the book. It looks like a very old school book and I bet the graphics inside are grand - this is my favorite!!

Just a note of clarification for everyone - does my vanity know now end? -

The blue eye liner in Delfina's picture of me is artistic license. I have not really worn make-up at all for quite some time now. Never wore it in that kind of excess...

Thanks everyone for visiting.

Oh - Carletta - it's actually not an old book. Got it free from Onespirit.com when I first signed on with them.

It is hard to photograph eyes, especially your own. I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to do that.

The picture is so very sweet. Love the beads in your hair.
