Ruby Tuesday

Maryt/The Teach over at Work of the Poet has something called Ruby Tuesday which features red. I think I probably have better photos of this bush - which I just love - but I'm impatient to hunt through the literally hundreds that I took all through the Spring. I wish I was a better photographer with a better camera because this bush is just so magnificent. The flowers literally glow in the afternoon sun and it draws bees and hummingbirds. Now that it is past it's flower - there are one or two blossoms still left - many (but not all) of the leaves have reddish edges. I took the last photo this morning. My camera is fighting a truckload of dirt on the glass, but hopefully you can still get a sense of how pretty it is.

Don't worry about the picture quality. I can tell those are beautiful blooms :) With a lovely shade of red too :P
Happy Ruby Tuesday :)

Raven, so glad you joined Ruby (Red) Tuesday! Your azaelea? bush, I think, is just lovely. The middle shot is the best! Thanks for participating!

napaboaniya - thanks. They really are pretty. I do have some shots that are better, I just didn't have the patience to hunt through this morning.

the teach - me too. I know it's not an azelea bush, but I have no idea what it is. It's just lovely and it has entertained me for almost two months now. It started the first signs of buds just when I got my camera and I've been obsessed with it ever since.

Ruby Tuesday huh?
I should try to remember that one, looks like fun too!
The second picture is the best one,And I haven't seen any bushes like that here neither!

mar - you should see them with the sun shining through them. It's magical. I'd love to know what they are. Someone told me the plant might be an endangered one but didn't know what it was. I'd love to give people cuttings. It's such a lovely plant.

jientje - I really should have found some better shots. None of them make me happy, but I do have some that are better. At least I think I do. Maybe I'm just deluding myself.

I really like the luminous quality of the red flowers. Looks like a soft-focus "glow." I think it makes the photo.

By the way, the clock on my site reads 8:13:26.

Have a great one!

I love those bushes! My neighbor has some.

Photos came out great.

I'm going to try and remember Ruby Tuesday next week. It was a great song - maybe I should just hum it once or twice and then it'll never go away

The red is vibrant on the bush. What kind of bush is it? The leaves look like photinia but photinia doesn't have flowers.

egandalf - thanks for answering the clock question. Cool. The flowers are just so wonderful. I'm in love with a bush.

dianne - think your neighbor knows what they are? Ruby Tuesday is a good song.

willow - I have no idea what it is, just that I love it. I'd love to find out its identity, though.

It looks like a Quince shrub and if it is then it is a very nice color one.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Having you call it a garden was a big compliment to me.

I love the red blooms! We were just picking out plants for our backyard and I did choose a red bird of paradise because I adore red flowers.

I love your camera, I might be getting one for Tom in the next week or so. :)
