Shadow Shot Sunday

This is my first time joining in on Shadow Shot Sunday hosted over at Hey Harriet's blog. I took these photos on December 22nd and 23rd. Sunny days have been rare so far this winter. No sun, no shadows, alas.

Who wants to go outside anyway with this icky ol' winter weather, however I did venture out this morning to play catch with the dog for awhile, as temps are supposed to reach 30-40's. But beautiful shadows you have from your home, I especially like the one with the green windows, it just looks old and peaceful.

Welcome and have a wonderful New Year from a friend in Iowa.

Since we've had a lot of snow recently, I've enjoyed taking lots of photos, too. I really love your whole series! They are just beautiful! Glad you've joined Shadow Shot! I'm new to it, too, but find it lots of fun. Thanks for stopping by my blog! and for your comments -- always appreciated!

Just beautiful shadows, Katherine! The snow is a great background!

And I'm sure there are plenty of signs on items in your kitchen closets - on cans and jars. What about that for Ruby Tuesday? :)

Cool shots; I especially like the second one from the top. The shadow itself is an abstraction...

Hi!
Great Shadows!! It's the same here, no sun, no shadows! Although the sun did peek out a few seconds today! Have a great New Year and thanks for stopping by my place!

I don't know how the shadow in the second photo is even possible but I LOVE it!

These are pure magic. I love the second one. The shadow has so much fluidity. It reminds me of Chinese dancers twirling silk scarves. The simplicity of the branch casting a solitary shadow is exquisite. The photos where the shadows are cast, but the object is obscure, as in the house photo are a brilliant. In essence, the object becomes the shadow of the shadow.

Warm hugs and blessings for a gentle and fertile new year.

They are super cool shots and I'm not just saying that because they're of snow. What beautiful soft shadows. Hope you have a very Happy New Year!

Hi, Raven
Welcome to SSS and what beauties to kick off your debut!

You managed to get what I think of as "rare" shadow shots these days, because as you said, there has been so little sun. These are beautiful. I especially love the one of the tree...gorgeous wiggly shadow. Really spectacular!

Health and happiness to you and yours in the coming new year!
