Well, going to call on Neale Donald Walsh again tonight because the message that came today seemed to me to be right on for the friend for whom these reminders were created.... It's a really good reminder for me too. I'm thinking maybe I should shift my financial pre-gratitude from $5,000/week for life from PCH to "a truckload of money" to give the Universe more wiggle room in how to supply me. Or maybe I'll use both because I really want to win something from PCH. I have been determined to do it for years and I'm still waiting. On a more serious note, though, I think this message is a good one for perfectionists too. I'm sure I've told this story before but it's one of my favorite "aha" moments from therapy. Dr. Jim and I were talking about perfectionism and I informed him (and unfortunately I wasn't being ironic, I was serious) that I couldn't be a perfectionist because I never do anything right. He cracked up and a light dawned. Then there's the whole trap that being too rigid about things creates for letting anything happen at all.
On this day of your life, dear friend,
I believe God wants you to know...
...that not everything has to turn out exactly
the way you planned in order for you
to call it a success.
Sometimes all God wants you to do is to
"get the ball rolling." Then, She'll take it from there.
So when things turn out other than the way you wanted
them to, don't be so quick to say, "Bummer!"
Many a Bummer is a Blessing in disguise.
Consider the possibility that life is magic...
and that there's a rabbit in that hat.
Love, Your Friend....

If you win a truckload of money, could you send a few thousand to me? About $200,000 would get us out of debt & enable me to take a lower paying job closer to where Mike teaches so we could move there & save a TON of gas. Heh.
I'm thinking about bummers today. I have an appointment with my orthopedic doctor today to discuss my upcoming hip surgery. We can't really afford it until August, but I'm in so much pain today that I don't know if I'll make it that long. Could be that I'll have to take a walk of faith that we'll make it somehow. We'll see!
