Daily Reminder # 337

The tufted titmouse continues to torment me by
being too fast or too far or too... Still, it's around and that's nice

It has been quiet in the back yard for the past couple of days. There was a woodchuck sighting, but the little stinker visited neighbors on both sides while ignoring MY yard. The tufted titmouse made a brief visit but I missed it on the feeder because it came and went so fast. Did get a visit from a catbird, which was nice, though it didn't come close either. This may have been good in some ways because we had a lovely but unwelcome visit right up to the porch by a big, very pretty ginger cat. I do wish people would keep their cats indoors. Indoor cats should (in my opinion) remain there. It's healthier for them and for the environment since cats are not actually native to North American and have endangered a species or two of birds. I guess I don't mind a feral cat killing for supper (though I'd rather there were no feral cats), but somehow a pampered pet killing for play is just as bothersome to me as a pampered human doing the same. Of course the cat is operating on instinct. It's their humans I wish would stop and think.  But that's my bias. Angel would love to go outside, but I make an effort to play with her as much as I can to atone for the fact that she is never going to do so if I have my druthers. But I'm rambling. I don't really have anything interesting to say this evening. Just some pictures and some gratitude.

I will also ask again for your continuing prayers for my friend Sara in Ohio, who is trying to overcome stage 4 cancer.

Woodpeckers want suet but will settle for Crisco and would LOVE peanut butter. Many of your other birds would love it, too -- and so would Mr. Squirrel!

Intimately, the post is in reality the freshest topic on this registry related issue. I concur with your conclusions and will eagerly look forward to your forthcoming updates.
