SkyWatch Friday

This is my 7th time participating in Skywatch Friday. This week the sky just wouldn't stop. Right after I posted last week's pictures, the sky went wild with glorious golden clouds and since then it has been a week of fluffy clouds and rainbows. I took a gazillion pictures and had to control myself to limit it to these few. I alternate between thinking they are nice and thinking they are awful. Not easy being me. Die hard cloud lovers can see more here. This is the last week there will be any skies with the curved branches of the big pine tree (#1, #3 & #9). She met her death this week. I don't often push my posts, but the process of cutting her down was fascinating as well as sad.

Sky Watch Friday is hosted by Tom at Welcome to Wigger's World and I hope you'll make it a point to visit his wonderful site as well. He takes awesome photos.

I love them. ALL of them. But of course the rainbow is the best. Rainbows always are.

So sad to have that tree gone it looks very large from the photos. Beautiful color in that rainbow you captured too.

I loved all the pictures. I agree with Bobbie, I enjoyed the rainbow photo the best!

I just adore the one with the barn/structure "framing" the sky. Nice work!

I want to see a rainbow.
Haven't seen one in ages.
Your story of the pine tree reminds me of a poem I use to read to my students.

Since my house burned down
I now own a better view of the rising moon.

I think is is probably a haiku and I don't have it divided correctly but you get the picture.
Just like you got those wonderful ones this week. Thanks, jcs

You have certainly had a variety of skies this week! I'm a little jealous. In Virginia it was hot (heat index 102) and hazy gray.
Photos 4,6,and 8 remind me of watercolors.
I think I see the head and wing of an angel in #5 (to the right) and then again in the left of #13.
#9 is a great last shot for the pine.
I love the rainbow!
Great SWF post!!!

Hi Raven! Wow, all your pictures are great, but I could say my favorite is the one with the rainbow! Very rare to see that, so when I see one, it's like a wonderful miracle!

My SWF photos are posted in these blogs:

Please drop by if you have some time. Thanks.

Scary clouds, pink clouds, blue skies, a rainbow, a barn frame... I'll go with the 7th down as my favorite, the one with the tree at upper left, yellow burst of a cloud in middle left, green forest under, horizontal shot, pink cloud at bottom right. It's a new game I play with your many beautiful photos; pick a personal favorite. But all are lovely.

I know what you mean about losing a tree, it's always sad.
You have documented her beauty though, so now she is immortal.

wow, that's a lot of interesting sky!
love the rainbow and the one right after

It’s interesting how the skies change when you photograph them from the same position. I enjoyed the odd cloud trails in the last one … the ‘fluffliness’ in (and ‘framing’ of) the one above the photo with the rainbow and the unusual shapes in the 2nd photo best in this set.
Hugs and blessings,

You did a real beautiful job of photographing this week. I am sorry you will be losing your old pine tree. It is so pretty in your photos.

Hey Raven, Happy Skywatching! This is almost a complete daily log of your sky.
Can you put that tree back up? It will be missed a lot. (In our subdivision we need permission from the POA to cut a tree, even if we were the one planting it.)
Thanks for peeking in on my pre-storm sunrise.

Hey Raven, I forgot to say please! I just presumed you would be back again. Sorry. :-)

We lost a tree this week, too. Sad days for us. I'm sure I'll post about it soon, in fact it's brewing enough it could be today, but who knows?
