Daily Reminder # 608

Thought I'd share a Neale Donald Walsh tonight and some gratitude.  Tonight's message from Neale and God is very much like the teachings of Hawaiian Shamanism. I highly recommend a book by a man named Serge Kahili King (I've probably recommended it before) called THE URBAN SHAMAN. Excellent. Changed my life.  I have NO idea why the gratitdue list decided to center itself tonight and I'm much to lazy to try and figure it out. Really. There's probably a perfectly reasonable explanation, but I don't have a clue as to what it is...

On this day of your life, dear friend,
I believe God wants you to know...
...that to find beauty in everyone you must see
beauty in everyone, then announce that you see it,
for in announcing it, you place it there in their reality.

Do not miss a single chance -- not one single
opportunity -- to tell someone how wonderful they are,
how special they are, how important to you they are,
how incredible as a person they are, how beautiful
they are inside and out. Do not miss a single opening
in which to insert such a comment, genuinely
felt and genuinely meant.

Make it your life's mission today to bring to the attention
of another just how extraordinary they are. Say it. Say it.
SAY it. Their heart is waiting to know that their own
best thought about themselves can be believed.
Love, Your Friend....

WISHING YOU A SPLENDID DAY!

Daily Reminder # 606

It has been a miserable gloomy day here.  Damp so that even 62 degrees didn't make me feel warm. I hold to the knowledge that even with today's snow, winter is on the way out. Spring will be here in a month or so and robins and birds and beautiful red flowers on the quince bush.... And, all in all, it has been a pretty modest winter, so snow or no snow.... things are looking up.

Some things I'm grateful for today: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, an effort to train myself to believe in abundance and miracles and possibilities - and in my right and worthiness to desire and even HAVE things and maybe even happiness and self worth. Daily Reminder # 605

Very lazy.  Just gratitude tonight and a few videos. I remembere reading a book by Alan Watts years ago and falling in love with it and the things it said and then over the years kind of forgetting. It has been amazing to find these YouTube videos. They do have an unfortunate tendency to end rather abruptly, but they are just so full of food for thought mixed with humor that they are really worth hearing..

WISHING US WISDOM!

Weekly Wordzzle Challenge # 192

This is the 32st installment of Paragon of Virtue, Fred Johnson's adventure in the Kingdom of Sunday.  Not sure if I'll post mine this evening or if I'll wait until tomorrow, but thought I'd put Mr. Linky and the words up awhile on the off chance that someone besides me may want to participate.

5:03 PM Saturday:  Finally finished. It seems to be getting more difficult as the weeks pass. Sorry to be so late posting.

Words for this week's 10-word challenge were:  manor, banana, wrap, craft, gardenias, wrinkles, paraphernalia, speaker, mold, stone wall   And for the mini: credit, cavern, spelling, hood, foundation

My mega:

As the Paragon's Dog Cane and Bubbles' grey cat Parchment made their way through the magical mural, Fred Johnson and the dragons took turns spelling each other to watch over and stay connected to their minds. Purpose Perfidy, who had - while under a curse - created the mural's painted depths, had joined them in the toy shop, equipped with all the paraphenalia an artist required to engage his craft. Despite the malice of its intent, it was difficult not to see the artist's heart in the amazing depth of details as they followed the animals' journey through his work. The details were astonishing, from the lichen mold on the stone wall that ran along the path Cane was following, to the gardenias and other flowers that filled the gardens that wrapped around a faded banana yellow manor house that came at the end of Parchment's path. Cane's path came to an end at the entrance to a large cavern whose foundation appeared to be made of clear and radiant crystal. "I have to give you credit, Purpose," the Paragon whispered, "You are one talented painter. The world you have created here is so beautiful that it's hard to believe it's intent was evil." "I didn't know what they intended when I started out," the painter replied, "They asked me to create a dream world for Lady Purist... it, it was supposed to be a gift of love..." he stuttered, weeping with grief and shame..."only at the last did they reveal their purpose and compel me to continue on...."  As he paused for breath another speaker's voice interrupted and two hooded figures appeared in the mural - one before Cane and the other before Bubbles' cat. As both animals crouched to attack, the Wizard transported them out of the painting. "Just what he wanted you to do, my fine creatures, but we have better ways of dealing with him, don't we Parchment, my dear?"  As he spoke these words, his wrinkled face burst into a radiant smile and he vanished with a quiet pop.

My mini:

As if by magic - well, not as if... it was definitely magic.... the wizard appeared before the hooded figure outside the cavern and within seconds the Paragon and the dragon, arrived before his counter part outside the manner. "Nice spelling," the dragon whispered to her partner. "Your magic skills do you credit, especially considering how newly acquired foundation of knowledge is. You have already proven to be a great Paragon of Virtue, but I think with time, you will become a master wizard as well.... should you choose to do so."

My 10-word:

Standing before the mysterious figures - one outside the crystal cavern and the other blocking the banana yellow manor house - they spoke in unison: "It's always darkest before the dawn," and continued with Grandfather Purist's chant. "Remember son, the Number One,Sun to sun, the Number One, Day is Done, the Number One, that is how the spell's begun, First we dance, then we run, then we watch the web be spun. Hate expires, Love has won, Love is ONE. Dawn of day to setting sun. Remember always Number One,"   As the words seemed to wrap around them, the hoods fell back revealing malevolent faces that glared at the speakers before them. In their hands they held the seeming paraphernalia of their dark magic. They opened their own mouths as though to repel the love mantra with words from their own dark craft, but instead found themselves howling with a kind of wild agony as the skin on their faces rapidly cracked and turned to wrinkles and they dissolved into small piles of dust on the road, like so much mold. Miraculously, the gardenias, the stone wall and all the parts of the painting that had been painted with love and innocence remained pristine and beautiful. One step closer to their goal, the three asked each other the telepathic question? What next? The manor or the cave?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Words for next week's 10-word challenge:  accountable, amber, quake, layers, graffiti, emerald, eager, weighty, fluke, blanket
And for the mini: conscience, charitable, claustrophobic, cargo, companionship
Thanks you for playing.  Newcomers can check here for some guidelines to make the game more fun. There are no rules, just some general guidelines and tricks.
Daily (sort of) Reminder # 604
OK... I forgot to post yesterday. I got involved in something on Wednesday night and meant to lie and post early on Thursday and then I forgot.  And I don't have anything to say this evening, really. I'm very cranky. I've been having a weird week. Besides the return of the big yucky sore on my leg, I've been having clutzy syndrome. Tuesday morning I accidentally tossed my tote everything around basket across the kitchen when I was trying to toss a nightgown onto the laundry pile. Then I spilled something else, though I don't remember what and had a series of mini catastrophes. Then last night, I knocked the garbage can over and spilled coffee grounds (the worst part) and other stuff all over the kitchen floor. This morning began with me knocking several things off the counter and then forgetting that I had opened the International Delight and shaking it rather vigorously. My dinner sucked. I treated myself to pre-cooked shrimp since it was on sale and I dished it all up and put some sauce on it and then when I started eating it, it didn't seem quite as cooked as it should have. It was probably fine but once you get that idea in your head.... Now I have to figure out if there's a way I can cook it more even with the stuff on it and whether I want to do that or whether I want to throw an exceptionally pricey meal into the garbage. And I'm cold. So that's all I have to offer tonight. Complaints.Whine, whine, whine. Anyway, I've had better weeks. I'm sure Neale Donald Walsh has something profound I could post but I feel really irritable and I don't WANT to be cheered up.  And of course I feel guilty for forgetting to post. Broke my promise. Sigh. Tomorrow is another day. Thank you for everything. I have no complaints whatsoever (she said after listing a whole bunch of complaints. When I was looking for the link to Alan Cohen's article (Thank you, etc.), I discovered that Suite101.com has apparently dumped it's archives so all my old articles are gone. At least I'm condensing my things to whine about into a few days. Guess that's a good thing. On to gratitude. I do have that.
Some things I'm grateful for today:  (Items in red are pre-gratitude, a training exercise of sorts, to open my heart and mind and spirit to the belief that I am worthy of abundance and an effort to encourage the Universe to encourage me by hearing my prayers and answering them.)
Well, I have had the gloomies today. Then I had therapy and Dr. Jim got hold of a bone and wouldn't let go and he's very good at that when I slip up and give him something meaty to work with. So, a few weeks ago I committed a terrible atrocity. I saw a pair of Croc on sale for half price. They were not exactly the shoe of my dreams, but they were half price. $15 plus shipping. And they had them in the same size as what I am wearing now. The black ones that are getting kind of corroded since I wear them constantly except for when I'm sleeping. But still, I had the black ones. It was - to my inner mother, my inner critic and a host of other inner voices - a pretty serious crime. I wasn't barefoot after all. And I am poor. And trying to get out of debt. So I splurged. And then the damned things arrived in all their pristine smelly ugliness and one look told me that they would never ever, fit on my feet despite being the same size as my current Crocs and besides the fact that all the reviews said that they run wide. So there the stupid things are. Punishment for the crime of having spent money on myself. A normal person would return them. But not me. I've been looking for somebody to give them to.
As I mentioned this to Jim (not sure why), I could positively feel his spidy senses tingling. "This is about shame," he declared quite correctly.  Much as I have risen risen out of the swamp of shame in which I was raised, and am now able to spend fair amounts of time breathing regular air, there are certain things like ugly pink shoes that I didn't actually need and don't like that drag me deep under.... padded, of course by my shame that shame prevents me from returning them.  So, anyway, I have a bit to chew on right now. Damn, but I hate those shoes. And I hate being poor. And then I feel guilty for complaining about being poor because my poverty is genteel and I don't have to work for the money that goes into my bank account once a month. And the shame beats down deeper. And as so many Republican voices on Huffington Post point out, how can I think I'm poor? I have a computer, a TV, a refrigerator and a telephone. I'm not living in a cave. I have food to eat. All true. They echo one of the voices that lives in my head and argue with the others which have compassion for everyone else in my situation. It's very exhausting being me. Shame is one of the most toxic and exhausting things there is. I'm having a problem with one of my legs right now too. And I'm ashamed of that as well. Ashamed that I have the problem, ashamed that I am not vibrantly healthy and functional. Ashamed that I am so dysfunctional that I won't go to the doctor until they have to carry me out and then I can be ashamed that they I will be a heavy load. Some days it really sucks to be me.
Now that I have done whining, I would ask you if you would to send some prayers to my friend E who is getting ready for surgery and for a friend of hers who lost a son to suicide last week. Her obituary for her son is raw, and honest and deeply moving.
Some thing I'm grateful for today: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, an effort to train myself to believe in abundance and miracles and possibilities - and in my right and worthiness to desire and even HAVE things and maybe even happiness and self worth. It is also a prayer of sorts to the Universe to hear and respond.)
SICK DAY
Didn't feel so well last night and forgot to post. Doing better this morning but still have the blahs.  I thought Angel's face in this picture was a good representation. Hopefully, I'll be back tonight.
If you would please keep my friend E in your prayers (they will find her), I would be grateful. She is going to have surgery in a week. I don't know the exact date and time yet.
WISHING YOU A WONDERFUL DAY!
Daily Reminder # 601
Tired and head-achy tonight and a little chilly even with the heat at 62 and all my layers on. Angel is sleeping but she has been very cranky/needy. I wonder if her foot bothers her or if it is just a phase she's going through.  Anyway, I'm glad that Spring is not too far away.
Some things I'm grateful for today: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, a training exercise of sorts, to open my heart and mind and spirit to the belief that I am worthy of abundance and an effort to encourage the Universe to encourage me by hearing my prayers and answering them.)
