Daily Reminder # 656

Hard to believe that it is Friday again already. It has turned from Fall to Summer here. It was a nice day, though... except for the ant invasion at my desk. I burned a lot of sage and that slowed them down, though I suspect they will have returned full force in the morning. Ants are supposed to be teachers about patience in Native spiritual teachings. Sigh. I don't want to be patient. I really hope they go away. Still not a lot of birds at my back door, but the two chipmunks. I think the one above is the smaller, more genteel of the two. She eats more delicately, is a touch more jumpy and doesn't just shove the food in. She is inevitably chased away by the Scar-faced Vacuum cleaner.  We have had a very beautiful but unwelcome feline visitor the past couple of days. Gorgeous animal looking for something to kill.

I listened to a new Healing with the Masters session... well, I sort of listened. I thought it got especially interesting about 40 minutes in. She had cancer and she talked about trying different things and what worked for her was giving it love. Something like that. I do think there is power in that... in loving your knees even when they ache. In loving - in my case - your fat cells. That's tough one for me. My mother started worrying about my weight when I was 3 months old and saw me as fat even before I fulfilled her vision of me. Life is strange. In any case, I'm going to try loving my flaws. We will see how that goes. Hmmm.

Some things I'm grateful for today: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, an exercise in embracing abundance and desires and attempting to make friends with both my own inner creative manifestor and the Creative Forces of the Universe.)

Weekly Wordzzle Challenge # 202

We are up to installment 42 of Paragon of Virtue, Fred Johnson's adventure in the Kingdom of Sunday, the story that I can't seem to finish off, though I seem to be creeping slowly towards a conclusion. Running way behind schedule, so that's this week's excuse to post Mr. Linky and the new words and do my exercises tomorrow.

Alas, it is late Saturday afternoon and I have only written about one sentence and have little enthusiasm to do more. My bloody smoke/bug zappers have been having a busy day. They have gone off 5 times so far, once lasting long enough for the little disembodied voice to come on and say "You must evacuate the building." Sigh. Angel is deeply traumatized by the invisible monsters which go off, not just in one room but because they are linked, go off in three rooms. Oh, the joy.  Anyway, after I have dinner, maybe I'll get ambitious. Otherwise, tomorrow....

Sunday 1:20 pm - just starting to make another try.... hopefully I'll be done before 3:00 when I have to do some reiki.

Sunday: 2:45 pm - Made it with 15 minutes to spare. Yikes, but this gets toughter ever week.

Words for this week's 10 word challenge were:  cactus, treading water, bear, sluggish, advantage, fairness, diversion, rocking chair, threat, fix   And for the mini: lost, chartreuse, robust, sustained, believe

My mega:

With a robust laugh, the old wizard, declared, "Armadillo, Agrivold, this is wonderful news indeed. In this dangerous endeavor, any advantage is a blessing indeed. Do your best. Is there any way in which the rest of us can facilitate your communication?"  Agrivold replied quietly, "A bit of Chartreuse cactus juice has always helped me fix my attention in a more sustained way. I believe there is something in it's chemical composition that facilitates focus and clears any mental sluggishness." "Charteuse cactus!" the wizard exclaimed, "one of the lost legends of magical lore. I remember my grandfather in his later days, settled into his rocking chair rambling on about the wonders of chartreuse cactus. I am ashamed to admit that - ignorant youngster that I was - I thought him to be a doddering old fool. In fairness, his mind had begun to fail and I was told not to trust his words. Still, it is delightful to learn something new even at my age." So saying, he produced from thin air, two large casks marked in bright green and gold with the worlds CHARTREUSE CACTUS beneath which was a logo that looked like a bear treading water. "Now, my dragon friends, let us see if you can reach Lady Purist and discover what threats and diversions await us behind that wall.

My mini:

The two dragons each lifted one the casks and took a sustained swallow of the Chartreuse cactus juice. "I believe that is the finest, most robust vintage I have ever tasted." Armadillo declared happily. "Let us hope we have not lost our gift for connection. Are you ready brother?" "I am," the smaller, younger dragon replied. "I am thinking perhaps you should try to converse with the Lady while I try to look around through her eyes." "Agreed. Let's get to it, then."

And the 10-word:

"Thank you again for the cactus juice," he said nodding to the wizard. "I feel my sluggish brain finding it's focus. I sense the lady's presence. Her mind seems like it is treading water and struggling to hold a fix on reality." Agrivold then continued, "I feel her seated on a rocking chair surrounded by blank stone walls. The lack of diversion has been the greatest threat to her sanity over all these years. Her emotional pain is almost impossible to bear. She fears our arrival means she is losing her struggle with madness." Armadillo spoke again. "I am sharing images of recent events, trying to persuade her to trust us and let her know that we are here to rescue her and restore fairness and justice to the kingdom of Sunday... I have told her we are right outside her prison and that we need her to look around her cave so that my brother can see through her eyes and give us as much advantage as possible against any traps or tricks that may await us." Again Agrivold spoke. "I feel hope seeping into her parched spirit. She is allowing me to look through her eyes and re-awakening her senses. I see nothing yet... but... I sense something behind her.... Oh, my! he exclaimed. to the transfixed group that stood hanging on the brothers' every word."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Words for next week's 10-word challenge:  eclipse, question, essential, value, encourage, green eggs and ham, charge, wanted, cheat, wonderful
And for the mini: country, treatment, concession, united, typical
Thanks you for playing.  Newcomers can check here for some guidelines to make the game more fun. There are no rules, just some general guidelines and tricks.
Daily Reminder # 655
An up and down day, today. The temperature went up 30 degrees from yesterday and 20 degrees from morning until late afternoon. Was nice to have my windows open, though. The back door didn't offer what I dream of, but it was at least kind of busy in its own way. The robins were around.  My little chipmunk has a cute friend.... well sort of a friend. They burn off anything they get out of eating the bird seed by chasing each other around.  Other than that there was a very pretty stray cat (no photo), a starling and a crow on my list of visitors. The woodchuck appears to have dug a hole, so maybe in a few weeks there will be little woodchucks too. Margaret, who comes to help me with shopping and cleaning, has a woodchuck at her new place which has been chewing on her trailer and her phone wires. I hope my woodchuck remains benign, but I now have a worry planted in my brain. My brain just LOVES worrying. Well half of my brain loves it. The other half believes it's a self destructive waste of time. Anyway, think I'm just going to share photos and gratitude.
What a surprise it was to see the woodchuck's
head emerge from the ground. Wow!
Some things I'm grateful for today:  (Items in red are pre-gratitude, an effort to embrace the spirit and reality of abundance, to teach myself skills I have never had - allowing myself to have big wishes, contemplating the possibility that it would not be a crime for me to be happy or successful and inspiring generosity (more generosity) in the Creative Forces of the Universe.)
Daily Reminder # 654
Think it's a good day for a message from God and Neale Donald Walsch. I though this one was really good and something I need to hear. I'm guessing I'm not alone in that.  The old ideas about ourselves are so hard to shake, though.  For some of us - well for all of us - we are programmed from birth to view ourselves in certain ways. And I think there is also a genealogical component to it, something passed down from generations past. Whatever, it's hard work to change your mind about yourself. I've been trying to catch myself with my "I am" statements. Wayne Dyer has a new program and talks about God's name being "I AM THAT I AM." and how every time we say the words "I am," we are speaking God's name, so that we should be very thoughtful about what we say after those two words. I also believe that our minds and bodies listen to what we tell them. Another reason it's important to be aware of what you say following the words "I am...."  Anyway...
On this day of your life, dear friend,
I believe God wants you to know...
...that you can remain in your present
idea about yourself, or you can choose again.
I like the idea of choosing again.
Glorify who you are today,
do not condemn who you were yesterday,
and dream of who you can be tomorrow.
You will not have to think for more than a second to
know exactly why you just read this...
Love, Your Friend....
neale
Daily Reminder # 653
I'm fighting the blahs again. Was a decent day today but I'm just struggling to make myself do anything important.  So, just some photos and a bunch of pictures from yesterday and this afternoon. I'm going to have to stop calling my seeds bird feed because so far this year, only chipmunks and squirrels have really partaken of it.  My little chipmunk friend, though,  just sits there and shovels the seeds in like a tiny vacuum cleaner.  He has no fear of me.  He is cute, though. There's a picture of a bee from yesterday. Don't know if it was injured or what, but it spent quite a while walking around on the porch. I think it was one of the gang of carpenter bees that's dedicated to eating my little house.
Some things I'm grateful for today: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, a song, a plea, a prayer, an invitation to the Creative Forces of the Universe to work with me to create a better life.)
Daily Reminder # 652
Still a touch under the weather. Tummy wonky, arms and shoulders aching. So I'm using that as an excuse to skip typing my gratitude or saying anything worthwhile, which is too bad because I listened to something pretty interesting on Healing with the Masters earlier and I had planned to write about it.  It was a session about finding inner peace.
Dull day at the back door.  Lots of crow activity. I think maybe they have babies in the nest.  I know there is a nest high in one of the pine trees in the back yard. Not where I can see it, but I see them flying in and out.  Crows mate for life and their off-spring from the previous year help care for the nestlings. Isn't that nice to know?  Anyway.... This is a fairly long-winded way of not doing something, isn't it?
I WISH YOU A SPLENDID DAY!
I hope you have things to crow about
(Used that one before haven't I?  Sorry.)
Daily Reminder # 651
I forgot all about the reminder yesterday. Did Wordzzles and sort of forgot that there was supposed to be a part two to the day. My apologies.
I had a reasonably nice day. It's still too chilly here, but the back door offered some bunnies and a chipmunk and even some birds. Nobody much wanted to pose, though, so while it was fun seeing them, my photos are kind of disappointing. My evening wound down with me eating a supper that is not digesting happily and has left me feeling tired and bloated and cranky. Therefore, I'm going to just share some photos and skip gratitude. Not that I'm not grateful, I just feel too yucky to type it all up. Just saying it out loud and in my head this evening. Was nice to see bunnies again. Usually they just sit and eat grass but they were leaping around - like rabbits - all afternoon. Was fun to watch. Less fun to photograph. Anyway, hope all of you have had a lovely day.
I WISH YOU JOY
I WISH YOU PEACE
(I wish you a happy tummy.)
