There is so much to do. I truly belive it will take every living soul doing their part to make change effective. He can't do it alone.

The glaring omission in all of this is the unwillingness to evaluate the military budget which is equal to the rest of the world's "defense" spending combined. That and the lack of will to roll back the tax cuts for the super rich. From 1940 – 1980, the tax rate for the upper income bracket was between 72 and 94 percent. Those were the years when there was a thriving middle class in this country methodically. This does not even begin to address the loopholes for corporations that allow them to evade their social responsibility to the commons.

I feel that on balance, things will slowly shift. But in the mean time, many will suffer.

peppy lady - I have shared a number of suggestions at change.gov. The Obama team has a huge job ahead of them and I think we all need to be patient and give them a chance. It's going to take time.

carletta - you are right.

gabrielle - I agree. I was disappointed in that too, but I suspect it will come over time. Meanwhile I think (well this is what the so-called pundits are saying) that he is trying to start in a way that will have Republican support so that they can actually get things moving rather than bogging down in squabbling.

I'm still hopeful that we will have genuine change for the good over the course of this administration.
