Daily Reminder # 652

Still a touch under the weather. Tummy wonky, arms and shoulders aching. So I'm using that as an excuse to skip typing my gratitude or saying anything worthwhile, which is too bad because I listened to something pretty interesting on Healing with the Masters earlier and I had planned to write about it.  It was a session about finding inner peace.

Dull day at the back door.  Lots of crow activity. I think maybe they have babies in the nest.  I know there is a nest high in one of the pine trees in the back yard. Not where I can see it, but I see them flying in and out.  Crows mate for life and their off-spring from the previous year help care for the nestlings. Isn't that nice to know?  Anyway.... This is a fairly long-winded way of not doing something, isn't it?

I WISH YOU A SPLENDID DAY!
I hope you have things to crow about
(Used that one before haven't I?  Sorry.)

Daily Reminder # 651

I forgot all about the reminder yesterday. Did Wordzzles and sort of forgot that there was supposed to be a part two to the day. My apologies.

I had a reasonably nice day. It's still too chilly here, but the back door offered some bunnies and a chipmunk and even some birds. Nobody much wanted to pose, though, so while it was fun seeing them, my photos are kind of disappointing. My evening wound down with me eating a supper that is not digesting happily and has left me feeling tired and bloated and cranky. Therefore, I'm going to just share some photos and skip gratitude. Not that I'm not grateful, I just feel too yucky to type it all up. Just saying it out loud and in my head this evening. Was nice to see bunnies again. Usually they just sit and eat grass but they were leaping around - like rabbits - all afternoon. Was fun to watch. Less fun to photograph. Anyway, hope all of you have had a lovely day.

I WISH YOU JOY
I WISH YOU PEACE

(I wish you a happy tummy.)

Weekly Wordzzle Challenge # 201

We are up to installment 41 of Paragon of Virtue, Fred Johnson's adventure in the Kingdom of Sunday, the story that I can't seem to finish off. Must admit I have kind of enjoyed doing a serial story, though I hope I can bring it to a happy conclusion soon. Will probably post Mr. Linky and the new words and do my exercises tomorrow. Seems to be becoming a habit.

5:45 Saturday: Well, this was not an easy task today. Imitating the walk? closet/ Armadillo? Who comes up with these words? Oops... I do. I really need to start cheating. But in any case, another week is behind me. Whew.

Here are links to the previous episodes.  If you need/want to catch up, click here for the 1st installment, 2nd installment3rd installment4th installment5th installment6th installment7th installment.8th installment9th installment10th installment11th installment12th installment13th installment14th installment15th installment16th installment17th installment, 18th installment19th installment20th installment21st installment22nd installment23rd installment24th installment25th installment26th installment27th installment28th installment29th installment30th installment31st installment32nd installment33rd installment34th installment35th installment36th installment37th installment 38th installment39th installment, 40th installment...

Words for this week's 10 word challenge were: closet, time, function, provide, prophets, reporting,  necessary, changes, self-sacrificing, stimulate   And for the mini: awesome, home made, imitating the walk, armadillo, startling

My mega:

With the necessary changes in personnel made, it was time to dispatch the trolls and hope that nothing went wrong. "Ready Paraphrase? Ready all?" the wizard asked, and with everyone reporting back in the affirmative, he nodded to the eldest of the dragons and they began to recite in unison the words of the Bully Blaster spell: "By the prophets ancient unction, we wake the Bully Buster's function.  Startling in it's awesome power, fire to heal but not devour, Self-sacrificing dragons' breath, invoking exile but not death, to the home made for them in days of yore, we return these trolls to where they were before, this vortex of fire we provide to convey you to the other side. Imitating the walk of troll-kind past, from ours to your own world be forever cast."  As the wizard and Paraphrase spoke these words, the younger dragons combined their fiery breath into a vortex flames towards each of the shadow trolls in turn until they were all gone. "Well and bravely done my friends, " the wizard said when the last of the trolls was gone. "If you can hold on for that long, I would like you to maintain the vortex while we unlock the chamber in which we believe Lady Purist has been closeted all these years. I would not put it past our enemies to have put one last troll or two in there as well." Paraphrase  nodded. "A wise plan, though I think perhaps we might be wise to call in a few more dragons so that they can spell one another. Hard to know how long it will take to get to Lady Purist. I suggest Gregor, Agrivold and his brother Armadillo. Their hearts and their fire are both strong." "So be it," the wizard replied.

My mini:

No sooner were the words out of his mouth, than with startling speed, the three new dragons appeared. Gregor, a medium sized dragon whose scales were an amazing turquoise blue, wore a large home made looking medallion. Noticing the wizard's eye fall on it, he blushed (as much as a dragon can blush) and said. "My youngest made it to protect me. 'It's got my love in it,' she said. Makes a father's heart almost burst with pride," he added. "As well it should, the wizard smiled. "I was there when she gave it to him." Agrivold, the smallest of the three newcomers chimed in. "Up she dashed to us, cute as can be," he said imitating the walk of the young dragon as well as his size would allow and making everyone laugh with his efforts. The last of the three chimed in. "Your daughter has greatness in her, I think."   At those words, Gregor blushed yet again and said. "To hear such words from Armadillo the Awesome, is an honor indeed and I think you for your words."  Armadillo laughed and responded, "I am awesome only because fate gave me great size. What she has is a heart and mind big enough to enfold the world. She does dragondom proud.... but I suppose we must wait to praise her after we have completed our task here," he replied, turning his attention to Paraphrase and the wizard. "An honor to have been called. How may we serve?"

And the 10-word:

"By the prophets," Armadillo exclaimed after the others had finished reporting on events thus far. "There's no time to waste, then, is there? I am profoundly honored to function as part of such a noble and self-sacrificing collection of heroes and heroines who are stimulating such positive changes in our kingdom.  I will be glad to provide any service you deem necessary.  I have always had a deep desire to do something - more than grow bigger - to merit being called "awesome."  Did you know that in my youth, I lived among Lady Purist's people? They were closet "Dragon Friends" even when it was not politically popular and their children through generations untold were anointed with dragon blood at birth. I believe that Agrivold and I may be able to reach the Lady telepathically and perhaps discover her situation more clearly before we proceed. If she is well enough, perhaps she can help facilitate her own escape." "If you weren't so big, I'd hug you," the wizard exclaimed with delight. "Did you know about this, Paraphrase? I feel renewed hope and energy.".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Words for next week's 10-word challenge:  cactus, treading water, bear, sluggish, advantage, fairness, diversion, rocking chair, threat, fix
And for the mini: lost, chartreuse, robust, sustained, believe
Thanks you for playing.  Newcomers can check here for some guidelines to make the game more fun. There are no rules, just some general guidelines and tricks.
Daily Reminder # 649
I forgot all about the reminder today. Well, I remembered on and off but just forgot to do it. Tired and think I will skip gratitude and just share this little video. I will confess that I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian, though I was a vegetarian for a few years. It just isn't practical for me at present. I saw an interview with the Dalai Lama last night. He's not a vegetarian. Boy, was that a surprise to me. Don't know why I thought he would be. He said he did it for a while when he was living in India (?) but then he got sick and went back to eating meat.  Anyway, thought I'd share this video.
I also just finished watching a lovely movie called THE WAY with Martin Sheen. Worth watching.
I think I had something else to say or share but I don't remember what it is, so that's all I've got this evening.
WISHING YOU
WONDERFUL DAY!
Daily Reminder # 648
Temperatures are still hovering just below 50 degrees here and projected to continue doing so for the rest of the week. I'm really ready for open windows to go with the look of Spring, but I guess I will just have to be patient.  Today was my youngest niece's birthday. My sister's children are all wonderful. Diana, has been gracious enough to never waiver in her love for me despite seeing me at my worst - crying in the bathroom at her sister's wedding because I was "not their mother," struggling to pack up my home of 33 years for the journey to Arizona. I think she accomplished more in a few hours than I did over weeks of effort. Then she drove me across the country. We left my Stuyvesant Town apartment exactly 12 years ago today on her 25th birthday. She had to endure me singing along to a lot of John Denver, but it was a lovely drive. We broke speed records getting there, one overnight and vegetarian picnics along the side of the road. Then she helped me in the process of getting my little house, going through at least one major melt-down with me in the process. At the worst moment - when it looked like everything was going to fall through - she helped me financially. I could go on and on. She's amazing. Her brother and sister are no slouches either. My sister produced magnificent children. Happy Birthday, Diana. Thanks for loving me.
Some things I'm grateful for today: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, a wish-list hoping to be manifested, an effort to teach myself that it's ok for me to want things and to have them. A work in progress, but hopefully the Creative Forces of the Universe are working on the big ticket items even as I type.)
Daily Reminder # 647
Well, it's cold and damp and rainy. It looks like Spring at the moment and feels like Fall and tonight it's supposed to snow. Strange weather. I spent some time at the back door and even the little chipmunk didn't bother to drop by... just this little starling... who sang a sweet song even in the rain.
A little Neale Donald Walsch today.... something we all need to hear, I think, especially those of us who have too often been told the opposite...
On this day of your life, dear friend,
I believe God wants you to know...
..that you are a pure child of God, beautiful
in your innocence -- and that this is true
no matter what you may have done.
There is no offense you could ever
commit that can rob you of your magnificence,
or of the wonder of who you are. Gosh, Eliot Spitzer's
drama has brought up a lot of stuff for all of us, hasn't
it? Yet who among us hasn't fallen from the path,
betrayed another, acted unwisely, fallen prey to
temptation, given in to a craving or addiction?
All of us are human. And in God's eyes that
makes us perfect. Really. Just the way we are.
Like 3-year-olds, looking anxiously up at some elder,
wondering with quivering lips whether we'll get
spanking for breaking the rules...
The 3-year-old is beautiful in her innocence. He is
pure as snow, and there is simply something that
has not been totally understood, or fully integrated into
behavior yet.  It's okay. We don't mean to be "bad."
And in truth, we aren't. Not a one of us.
We're simply, sometimes, mistaken. And God loves
us anyway. Immensely. Completely. Eternally.
Just   as    we    are.
Love, Your Friend....
neale
Daily Reminder # 644
It's a gloomy, warm/cold day, but I finished my wordzzles and best of all, the back yard was in a very good mood despite the weather.  There were some birds who visited, but it seemed to be mostly a mammal day - chipmunk, squirrel and woodchuck.  The birds fluttered by but didn't really linger. I had fun with this little squirrel, though, who was very into posing for me. Bless his little heart. LOTS of pictures so I am very happy. Just going with pictures. Lots and lots of them. And gratitude, of course.
Some things I'm grateful for today: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, an exercise in befriending and enticing abundance into my life. I wish I was better at it, but I'm making the effort at least.)
