Project Black, Take 5: Truck Parts

(Please scroll down for One Single Impression)

Today is day five of Anna Carson's Project Black. After you have yawned your way through this post, please check out some of the incredibly talented people from all over the world who are also participating.

Ok... when I took these first pictures of this most recent of the 4 trucks that have come to take away my struck down tree, I thought it was black, but it's clear from the photo that only the trim, sides and tires are black. The side and tire seemed kind of boring (though black), so I'm going to add a pictures of the first shiny new truck that came for the tree. It's white with black letters and trim so and I like the pictures better. I don't know why I'm not just leaving the first truck out. I really think I should but I can't seem to do it. Sigh. Not easy being me. Sorry.

I'm first - yeah!
The truck looks black to me with an undertone color.
I love the last three! - Especially the first of the last three. :)

I can totally tell you are like me; on the lookout for all things black. I wish I had my camera with me today. I missed some good ones. I'm glad you had your eyes open and your camera in hand.

Hey Raven...I missed doing the Wordzzle on Saturday. Do I still get to participate if I do it today?

I do like the reflection of the mirror on the truck window.

Great shots, Katherine! The truck is the truck that carted away your wounded tree, eh?

thanks everybody - I don't usually post responses because I figure nobody will come back and read them, but since there are a few questions...

carletta - thanks for your continued encouragement and kind comments...

robert - one virtue of never leaving the house is that my camera is always with me, though sometimes not in the right room at the right time. These nice trucks have come to me to take away the first half of my lightning struck tree. They did make good photo subjects, though.

smm - you're welcome to post your wordzzle. Add your name to Mr. Linky. I suggest you visit others, though and tell them you've posted. I don't think anybody much checks back after Saturday and Sunday.

casdok, jerry, dianne - thanks

the teach - two of the 4 that have taken away about 3/4ths of the debris. The other half has to come down, so once I get the $1,000 (the in cash price) it will cost, there should be lots of pictures of men climbing. It's 60 feet tall, so I'm very anxious about the whole process. They climb it and cut it down in stages, I guess. I can't imagine how empty the sky will look without it.

I love that there are so many different shades to black :-)

That first truck looked sort of like a very deep blue...I had a car once that was that color, but probably state or city vehicles don't get that kind of smart paint. Nice pictures, but that second truck...it is white. :)

I like all your black photos that you've put up. But I love your post about your cat. Those photos are really great!

Ya know... that's a lotta tree disappearing in that truck! Did ya at least get some firewood out of it or anything?

Raven said...

another question that needs an answer... thanks everyone for stopping by...

janet - I agree, it's interesting how many different shades there are of black and how many amazing varieties people are coming up with.

amber star - you didn't read my comments, I said that I couldn't quite tell. Looking at it with the naked eye, it looked black and the side panel is black... as for the white truck, it has black trim which is what is more feature.

beverly - thanks. Angel pretty much blows the roof off the cuteness meter.... also the naughtiness meter, unfortunately... but she is entertaining.

melli - so far 4 trucks have gone. No firewood for me since I have no fireplace to burn things and apparently white pine isn't good to burn because even though it burns easily, it leaves a lot of residue in chimneys and leads to chimney fires. The remaining half of the tree is still to come down, which breaks my heart as it's a beautiful old tree - 60 feet tall. Such is life, though, I guess.

I'm really loving the reflective quality of black metals in your photos and in some of the other participants' shots. I like your up-close photos best. Cool!
