Wordless Wednesday: Back Yard Wonders

The back yard has been good to me this week.

This bunny and her babies have been pretty regular visitors and she has come right up by the house several times. Yippee!

There are two babies. They were so far away most of the time that this was about the only clear shot I got of them. Mother seemed to chase them around more than nurture them. Maybe she was channeling my mother...

This little chipmunk went scampering past and I said out loud to myself... "oh, don't go away." I noticed too late that he had hopped up on the porch and by the time I refocused and found him with the camera, he was off again... Darn. Cute butt, though.

Hi Roger - Thanks. Oh, my... I was thinking today (well yesterday) was Wednesday and that I was too late for this week. I'll see if I can get myself organized. Thanks for your kind words.

How wonderful that you had so many willing and able models to pose for you. I trust they were rewarded well. Great shots here. I loved the whole series. :)

These photos are wonderful. They remind me of Beatrix Potter paintings. By the way, if you haven't seen the movie "Miss Potter", I recommend it.

Cute bunnies! My kids would love to have bunnies in the yard (heck, they'd love to have a yard - we live in a very urban neighborhood).

The flower shots are stunning.

That is a great series of photos, Raven. Re the chipmunk butt -- I wish I had a buck for every critter butt I've ever photographed! Dang little buggers always turn tail just as you press the shutter button!

What a great series of photos. I love the photos of the birds especially. How did you get so close to the bunny for the photo taking? That is amazing.

All good, but of course my favorite is the last...who can resist a chipmunk, especially a chipmunk's going away view :-)

Guess what? Chipmunk butt! *giggling stupidly* I'm so mature.

The bunny pics are sweet... My ex-boyfriend had a "rabbit problem" at his house. I told him his problem was in terminology. If you view them as bunnies then there's no problem at all. He saw them as RABBITS, and he said it just like that. But he was upset because they were peeling or eating the bark off of some shrubs in the back corner of his yard.

*vindicated* On the other hand, I was tossing any produce that went bad before we could eat it into the backyard for the bunnies. The baby bunnies made it so worth it.

They're all great shots, but I especially love the bunnies (of course!). Around here, we've dubbed them yard bunnies.

The chipmunk butt is just funny, though. Great "ending" to your post. Ha! Ha! :D

Hi Roger -- Happy WW! Your backyard is a pretty place, we can see. Thank you for showing us a little of what goes on there.

My WW picture is out in a wildeness cow pasture in Colorado. You can guess what I found, please don't step in it.
