One Single Impression: Circle

Here are my circling haikus and quasi-haikus for this week's One Single Impression. I keep saying (at least to myself) that I'm going to ignore the 5-7-5 thing and then I keep trying to do it.

Dreadful circling rounds
Frantic thoughts that never stop
Going nowhere fast

I offer my love
my wide open, naked heart
but you won't close the circle

we came together
a circle of loving hearts
and the angels sang

Mandala

swift prayerful fingers

meditate with colored sands
ephemeral
art
it washes away
and yet be
cause it's fleeting
we remember it

circular thinking
thoughts ramble vaguely onward
ending at the start

I can't stop myself
circle, circle, circle on
one last silly poem

I guess this was a bunch of circular (and confused) impressions instead of one single one. Have a lovely week, everyone.

Nice! Very nice...and I love the images...did you take them with your new camera?

Raven said...

Thanks... they are all the same picture of branches manipulated with paint shop pro. I got kind of a late start so I kind of rushed it or I would have made more and maybe worked a little harder at the ones I made.

I love the new look on your blog - and the slide show in the corner is way cool.

I had to smile seeing this last one. It does get addictive, doesn't it?

Well done. The last one made me smile, too. Oh, for peaceful thoughts and arms that close the circle!

Lovely pieces, Raven.

Such a range of emotions are here: anxiety, sadness, even a chuckle. Wonderful work.
My OSI Circles is here. Thank you.

I forgot to say the most important (to me): that mandalas seem to make so much more sense to me when poetry describes them.

I came full circle, I enjoyed them all.

Confused? No way. Those made a lot of sense to me!

spaced-law... My theory is leave 'em laughing and they won't remember that the rest were kind of lacking...

sandycarlson.... glad I left you smiling. I wish I had written the line "oh for peaceful thoughts and arms that close the circle." Darn. That was beautiful.

joyce... glad you liked #2 and 3. My ego is so fragile that they have now gone up in my own estimation. Thanks for your email earlier.

leatherdykeuk - thank you for the kind invitation. I doubt I'll make it back to the UK in this lifetime, but if I do, I will add your circle to my itinerary.

andree - thank you for your kindness. As far as mandalas and art in general... I'm easy.... "shiny... pretty... me like."

lisa at greenbow - came full circle... made me smile... thanks

gautami tripathy - I'm so glad they made sense. I did kind of go from mood to mood. Guess I'm working some things out this week.

mad kane - thanks for dropping by. I loved your squaring the circle. I thought it was genius.

hi michael manning - what a nice thing to say! Now I can go to bed feeling all warm and fuzzy and happy. Thanks.

Raven, I love the 2nd and 3rd ones! They are all beautiful and impressive! The mandalas are lovely too! :D

Raven said...

the teach - thank you for your kind words on the poems - and the mandalas. I'm not sure they really qualify as mandalas. I do love paint shop pro. They are all the same picture of branches manipulated in different ways. I wanted something mandala-esque at least.

raven, yr words have a lightness to them that fly on tails of kites... and those photos add another dimension as well.. very creative ... going nowhere fast, yeppers that definitely describes me most of the time...and can't stop myself...why would you want to???... keep writing!!!

Raven said...

onemorebeliever - great name... lightness of a kite's tail... what a cool thing to say. Thank you. Glad you liked my circles. They are all the picture of the tree branches manipulated with paint shop pro. I like paint shop pro... you don't have to have any real talent, just push a lot of buttons and experiment a lot and once in a while you make something fairly cool.
