Poem of the Week

In the moonlight
Dancing erotic, sacred paeans to God
Spirit and flesh somehow mixed
Holy, and wholly human
The ancients swayed.

When did we lose the glorious knowledge
That we are gods
Growing eternally into God
That hurt is learning to know what being is
That all things end
And yet remain forever growing in time
That everything we've done (wise and foolish)
Is simply part of who we have become
And are becoming

Will we ever know again
The majesty of belonging to the Universe,
Dancing splendid, slow and rhythmic praise
To the unity of all being
To ourselves
In whom we must find joy
Before we can touch the heartbeat of eternity

- Katherine E. Rabenau

Yes, we are all part of the universe--even science now says as much. This poem shows the connectivity of everything and how we have forgotten it. Very nice.

Beautiful Raven. Gave me goosebumps. And the photo is perfect.

Wow, I love it! The picture is so eerily beautiful too.

My favorite is the second section and something that I continue to consider how sometimes the suffering and decisions make (good or questionable) teach us strong and valuable lessons.

I have to do LOT of posting tonight...include my Wordzzle (I did it!) and my poem. I've been MIA working on this grant over the last few days, but I clicked submit this morning, so one monkey is off my back. Now, I am off to make train tracks and fight some bad guys with Ian.

billy... I've been a big believe in everything being connected for a long time now. Nice that science is catching up with us crazy mystics.

dianne - thanks. Kim is right (hi, Kim) I took that photo in Lake Huntington with my puny, cheap little 1.5 pixel HP camera. I was amazed that it came out.

snoopmurph... I have stayed up way too late posting this terrifying Picture Fiction Challenge thing. I just read through all the other efforts and if I had a rock would crawl under it. I was already nervous when I posted it, now it's too late.

I'm looking forward to reading your wordzzle. Congratulations on the grant. Hope you and Ian beat the bad guys... and had fun doing it.

I love this poem Kathie. It is a goes perfectly with Eckhart Tolle's book. I truly wish that I could write the way you do. I have always appreciated your writing,

Joan

You see what I mean..."it is goes..." I can't think and type at the same time any more!

Joan! I'm always so thrilled to have you pop out of hiding and to hear from you.

I'm the say way typing these days... kind of makes me worry that senility is setting in... I'm thinking one thing and something similar but different pops out of the keyboard. I really will add Eckhart Tolle's book to my list.
