One Single Impression: Color

The prompt from One Single Impression this week was color. I'm trying to break the habit of apologizing when I post stuff. I realize that saying that I'm not apologizing is a covert way of doing so. It's a process. I'm tapering off. For some reason I couldn't change the text
colors this week.... when I was going for rainbow colors. Aggggghhhhh! Oh - you'll probably figure this out for yourself. The pictures are about the color, not so much the text.

radiant rainbow arch
curved across the distant sky
shimmering beauty

radiant crimson
color of blood, of roses
gore and beauty both

glowing rich orange
fruits, flowers and neon glow
you have many moods

sunshine and lemons
yellow is flowers and sun
morning light begun

green of grass and trees
rippling in a summer breeze
rich, cool, lush with life

azure skies and oceans
color of my lovers eyes
shining, sparkling blue

rich, dark Indigo
bridging blue and purple hue
delighting the eye

delicate flowers
violets, iris, rich orchids
you are rainbow's end

then there's dusky pink
color of the heart chakra
color of true love

I hope you will all take a minute to remember that this is Autism Awareness Month. The following blogs and posts offer an opportunity to put a human face and heart on something which for most of us is just something we have heard about but don't really understand.

Raven, these are a feast for the mind and eye. And you end with the most appropriate chakra, the heart. I'm "green" with envy at these jewels you have posted.

All the hues of the rainbow dancing in your words and images. I think you've reached a new level of color. Gorgeous; I cannot pick a favorite.

Wow, you really covered every color in the rainbow and the words are perfect for each one. Beautiful.

Every Morning brings some new into our world that one may fine some joy.

I’m one who tends to apologize mainly I don’t want to offend anyone but I want people to except me for who I am.
They don’t have to agree or even like me but I want to be accepted as me.

But I finding out if I accepted my self more and more people will accepted me.

I like the red verse. Of gore and beauty, how true is that! I'm new at One Single Impression and poem writing. Still have much to learn. :)

Raven, I very much enjoyed your haiku on each color, each accompanied by an interesting photo. Very nice indeed!

That was such a treat to come across so early in the morning. The photos are very nice, but your words painted the best pictures for me...loved gore and beauty and color of true love. Sigh. So lovely, Raven.

I really like how you spanned the spectrum with your photos and haiku. For yellow, I especially liked "morning light begun", for crimson the line about "gore and beauty both", but I think my favorite was the first haiku about rainbows.

Oh, dear God, if you have to apologize for these, I might as well just put a damn disclaimer of apology on my entire blog. Wonderful. Wonderful. Text in color be damned.

All of these a vivid representation of the beauty of color. I especially like the crimson one and the line "morning light begun."

I think it works well with the text a constant black. You have the color to each side anyway. Green and yellow warm me particularly today.

Thank you everybody for all your kind words. You folks inflate my ego every week... and I quite like it. Thanks.

What a lovely richly illustrated haiku series for ‘color’ … and I’m happy to discover this OSI post as I visit today.
Hugs and blessings,
