Weekly Wordzzle Challenge # 161

I'm only a little late this evening.... and posting the whole works at once. Wow. Been a while since I've done that.

Words for this week's 10-word challenge were: silly, pink polka-dots, charging bull, paragon of virtue, landscape,  execution, ample bosoms, park bench, magic, tree stump   And for the mini: windows, pollution, space ship, little person, cheese cake

My 10-word:

Opening his eyes, Fred Johnson looked around him at the unfamiliar landscape and felt puzzled by what he saw. He could have sworn that he had fallen asleep on a park bench in Cleveland, but this particular place did not seem to be anything like Ohio. In fact it did not seem anything like any place he had ever been before.  As he was pondering what to do he heard a slight cough near-by and turned his head to the right to discover a tiny woman with extremely ample bosoms that were swathed in large pink polka dots sitting on a large tree stump. "Ah, silly man," she chuckled, "you have awakened. Not very smart to put yourself in the path of a charging bull." As she said that, as if by magic, an extremely large beast came tearing towards him at break-neck speed. Luckily, he was still pretty agile and was able to leap out of the way without being impaled on the creature's horns. "Good execution," the tiny woman chuckled, "though it lacked something in the way of style.."  "Who are you?" he finally gasped. And where is this place?"  "In due time, Dearie," she laughed. "Follow me and I'll take you to the Wizard, who will explain all. You have been chosen to be our Paragon of Virtue. The spell was cast and you were chosen. Now you must learn to fulfill your destiny."  Paragon of Virtue? Fred, thought to himself. I sure hope this is a dream.

My mega:

A few hours later, looking out the windows of the castle at the exquisite landscape below, Fred thought how lovely it was to be in a world without pollution, though he quite missed Cleveland. Like the strange ample bosomed woman in the pink polka-dot dress who had conjured up a charging bull and then brought him here, the wizard was a little person. He was seated in a chair that looked rather like a cartoon space ship. "Would you like some cheese cake before we get down to business?,"  the strange little man inquired. Since he loved cheese cake and realized that he was quite hungry, Fred nodded in the affirmative and dug in happily. "Delicious," he muttered between bites. That was his first mistake, though, for partaking of food in the magic kingdom, it turned out, cemented his presence there. The wizard, of course, knew this. For his part,  Poor Fred was still hoping that this whole silly Paragon of Virtue thing was some kind of weird dream from which he would wake again on his park bench Ohio. He was called back to "reality" from his Ohio day-dream by the words. "After the execution of the last Paragon, we were forced to invoke the Tree Stump Charm and bring you here to serve in his place... and now that you have eaten, your place in this kingdom is sealed."  Well, Fred, thought to himself, if cheese cake was going to seal you into a magical kingdom where you might possibly be executed, at least he was glad it has been exceptionally delicious cheese cake.

The mini.

"As long as it has bound me to this place, any chance I could have another slice or that cheese cake? Fred asked politely? If I'm going to die, I might as well not be hungry. What exactly does a Paragon of Virtue do? You know your chair looks a lot like a space ship. Looking out the windows, it seems this lovely kingdom doesn't have much problem with pollution, though it could use some charging bull control...."  He had decided that maybe if he kept talking.... "Quiet yourself, young man. You can't talk your way around this," the wizard replied with a kindly smile. For such a little person, he had a very large presence, Fred thought. And as though reading his mind, the wizard laughed and replied. "A wise thought. The tree stump has chosen wisely. I quite like you Fred. We are going to get along famously.  More cheese cake? Or perhaps you'd like some roast pheasant..."

Oh I like the continuing story in these three. Maybe you'll have to have more adventures of Fred the Paragon of Virtue next week :)

OK, I'm a dirty liar! I've done my mini and just need to do a Harold episode (in my defence, my computer's video card went west and I had to get a new one.) Anyhoo. LOVED your three linked bits of story! Please continue, please, please!
