Daily Reminder # 330

For a day that began wet and cold (and stayed cold), it ended up with the back yard being extremely generous. Besides the popularity of the neighbors bird feeder, a few winged wonders have started landing on mine. It has also been discovered by a squirrel who very much wants to make it his/her own. I just feel so blessed that my little house offers me such wonderful furry and winged guests.

Birds were just swarming the neighbor's feeder.

I think somebody's building a nest....

He actually tried to climb the poll and did a wonderful
comic slide right back down, after which he went under the
porch and fetched the big round thing in the next photo....
and then dumped it on the porch and went his way.

Some things I'm grateful for today are: (Items in red are pre-gratitude, an effort to persuade the Universe that it really SHOULD bring me millions of dollars, flowers and some other good things.)

~~~ IN MEMORIAM ~~~
I want to close today with an short memorial to a loving being who has left this life. The day also began with the news that my friend's Nana Dog, the irrepressible Josie, died this morning. Josie was a joyful spirit, a rescuer of animals (Angel and Tara Grace both benefited from her generosity of spirit) and a rescuer of wounded human hearts. Her person, my friend is grieving. I ask you to pray for both Josie's spirit and that other devoted human companion. Rest in Peace, Josie. You live in our hearts and in your good deeds.
May You All Know the Love
of a Good Four-legged Companion
My heart goes out to your friend today. I hope she finds peace again soon.
You do get some lovely little visitors, don't you? Our little proto summer has given away to cold and cloud. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.
